Event Schedule Remix: March Edition

Now that a few months have passed into 2017, War Torn Front is ready to remix a bit of our weekly schedule to ensure players get a chance to indulge in their favorite games at our weekly events.

First, the events that will be leaving out event schedule.

Frontier and Mystery Throwback Sealed are being discontinued until further notice.

While both formats offered unique chances to battle with Magic cards of old, attendance and interests in these events were in constant decline. As such, we made the decision to take these events off of our schedule until interest returns for these events. Watch our announcements in the coming months for potential returns for these events as scheduled Weekend events here at the store.

Now, The events that are joining our event schedule.

Pauper Thursday and Casual Standard Saturday are now joining our rotation of events for Weekly Play.

Pauper has been a fun casual format that has had some cult following in the store for several years. After debating with several prominent individuals within the community and looking at our own schedule, We have decided to host a Pauper day on Thursday afternoons. These events will have entry fee and prize support determined by the players as they arrive.

Feel like risking it all and getting crazy amounts of Store Credit? Perhaps a casual afternoon of slinging Pauper for promos is more your style? Just show up starting this Thursday and enjoy Pauper Magic to your heart's content.

We will be following MTGO Pauper rules, in terms of card legality and bans. Not sure about a specific card, stop on in on Thursday and we can help you out for that night's event! If not, come in and talk shop, perhaps we can interest you in our next event.

Several months ago, we offered a Free Standard on Thursday nights. This night allowed many causal Standard players to come in and test a variety of decks before FNM and earn some cool promos. However, Standard attendance began to dip for this event until we moved Free Standard off of our schedule for Frontier. The time has come, however, for a chance to test Standard decks at a much more casual tournament environment.

Casual Saturday Standard will start this coming Saturday, March 18th. This event will cost $5 to enter, but each participant will receive a Standard legal Booster Pack with their entry. The prize support for this event will be paid out in Store Credit and based on the number of players in the event.

This event is a great way to not only get a feel for what our FNMs and Premier Level Standard Events are like, but at the same time build your collection and get to know more players who are trying to get better at Standard in the area.
